1. About these terms

They cover your use of the Readli website and app (the “Service”). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, including your child's, and is part of these Terms. By creating an account or continuing to use Readli after we ask you to accept updated Terms, you agree to them.

2. Who can use Readli

• You must be at least 18 and the parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you create. Only adults can hold an account or agree to these Terms.

• Some accounts, including those created with Google, are reviewed before they can be used. We may decline or remove an account at our discretion.
• You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password and kids' mode PIN private.

3. Children and your supervision

Readli is designed for children aged 6 to 11, who use it only through your account. You decide which child profiles to create, what information to enter, and which books your child can see. Kids' mode limits your child to their library and the reader; you unlock the parent area with your PIN. You agree to supervise your child's use of Readli. By creating a child profile, you consent to the collection and use of your child's information described in our Privacy Policy, as required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

4. AI-generated books

• Stories and illustrations are created automatically by artificial intelligence services from the answers you give. We use content filters, but AI can still produce mistakes, odd pictures, or content you consider unsuitable.
• You review every new book before your child can read it. If you reject it, it is not shown to your child.
• Don't enter information you don't want used in a story, such as your child's full name, school, address, or health details.
• Pictures may differ from page to page, and a book may resemble books made for other families. We don't promise that any book is unique.

5. Your content and the books you create

You keep any rights you have in the information you enter. You let us use it to create, store, and show your books and to run the Service. You may use books made for your family for personal, non-commercial purposes. 6. The Marketplace

• Books that children rate highly may be published to the Readli Marketplace, where other families can read them and add them to their libraries. Before publishing, we remove your child's name and other personal details from the story.
• You give Readli a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, display, copy, and adapt those de-personalized books on the Service, including after you close your account, for families who have already added them. • Books you add from the Marketplace are for your family's personal use on Readli.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• enter content that is sexual, violent, hateful, or otherwise harmful to children;
• try to get around our content filters or the parent review step;
• enter another person's personal information without their permission;
• share your account, resell the Service, or copy, scrape, or reverse-engineer it;
• use the Service for anything unlawful.

We may block a request, remove content, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.

8. Plans, subscriptions and payment

• The free plan includes 1 book in total, made new or added from the Marketplace.
• Paid plans are monthly subscriptions: Starter $2.99 (3 books), Plus $9.99 (10 books), Family $19.99 (20 books) per month. Making a book or adding one from the Marketplace uses one book from your monthly allowance. Unused books don't carry over. [To confirm: whether a rejected or regenerated book uses up a book]
• Your subscription renews automatically each month and your payment method is charged until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices include or exclude tax as shown at checkout.
• We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of a price change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

9. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel at any time from My Profile → Billing → Manage billing, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. [To confirm: refund policy, and any state-specific cancellation or refund rights]

10. Changes to Readli and to these Terms

We may change or stop features. If we change these Terms in a way that matters, we'll ask you to accept the new version before you can keep using the parent area. The version and date at the top show which Terms apply.

11. Closing your account

12. Disclaimers and limits on liability

The Service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate or suitable, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
